Support Us

Together, we can provide life-changing support for children with SEND in South Devon.

Support the Wild Embers Emergency Access Fund

Every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, but for many children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), that chance is out of reach. Long waiting lists, gaps in specialist support, and barriers like poverty and social isolation mean children are left without the help they urgently need.

Our fundraising target for 2025-2026 is £20,000

At Wild Embers, we see the profound difference that tailored, nature-based therapeutic support can make. Our programmes, delivered by experienced and caring staff, help children overcome challenges, build resilience, and experience the joy of being outdoors. But the demand for our services is growing—and so is the urgency to act.

What is the Emergency Access Fund?

The Emergency Access Fund is a vital resource that allows us to respond immediately when a child or family needs help. By removing financial barriers, we can say YES to parents and carers seeking urgent support for their child, offering timely and tailored assistance when it's needed most.

Why is the Fund Needed?

Devon has one of the highest number of children requiring SEND support in the UK, but many families face significant obstacles:

  • Child Poverty: Families struggle with health inequalities and lack of resources.

  • Mental Health Crises: Anxiety, depression, trauma, and potential suicide or suicidal ideation affecting children as young as five.

  • Isolation: Broken family ties and limited access to social opportunities leave children feeling alone.

  • Long Wait Times: Gaps in school and statutory services mean children can wait months, or even years for support.

Parents and carers tell us that the existing system often fails to meet their children’s needs, leaving them desperate for immediate solutions.

How Your Donation Helps

Your contribution to the Emergency Access Fund provides:

  • Immediate Support: Rapid response for children in urgent need.

  • Tailored Programmes: 1:1 and group sessions led by our experienced team in a supportive outdoor learning environment.

  • Life-Changing Outcomes: Improved mental wellbeing, social skills, independence, and stronger family connections.

Every pound you donate helps us offer children a brighter future, free from the barriers holding them back.

Real Impact, Real Change

Thanks to supporters like you, Wild Embers has already helped children achieve:
