About Boys Fire Circles
Wild Embers aims to support boys in their evolving journey and understanding of what it is to grow from adolescence into manhood in a healthy and conscious way.
What are circles?
Circles offer a dynamic space where restorative principles come to life. They bring people together as equals, emphasising collective wisdom and consensus-based decision making. More than just sitting in a circle, these gatherings create a safe environment for meaningful dialogue and shared power.

Our Boys Fire Circles aim to create a safe and trusting environment, which is our circle around a fire, this practice is something that has been done by countless generations of men for boys.

In this space our hope and intention is to help boys age 11-14 know and experience what it is to be listened to and to listen to others without judgement or need to fix.

And...
Â
To learn that each voice matters equally.
To learn that it’s ok to be who you are.
To create a space to have fun, play, and feel in connection with the elements.
What does a Fire Circle session look like?
In one of our recent sessions, we began with our opening circle, setting intentions and welcoming the space.
The boys then eagerly ventured down to the brook bed, searching for the perfect stones to use as hand tools. Working together, they used these tools to carefully cut some hazel whips, which will be used for whittling in the next session.

We then gathered around the fire to share a simple snack, cooked over the flames, before taking a moment of silence, just listening to the crackling fire and the sounds of nature.

To close, we held space for each boy to be heard, sharing a round of gratitude, acknowledging the beauty of the moment and the growth in each other.
